Initial Reactions and Appearance
The wrapper of Tatuaje Nuevitas Jibaro No. 1 looks of good quality, and there are no imperfections or veins. The cigar features a shaggy foot and a medium dark-brown color. Some of the initial smells are earthy and remind me of classic tobacco, and the unlit draw provides a subtle cacao flavor.
The shaggy foot is earthy and creamy, providing a good start to Tatuaje Nuevitas Jibaro No. 1. The wrapper itself adds some strength and sweetness to the overall smoke, and there’s a small amount of pepper and chocolate on the retrohale. Though it doesn’t impact the experience, the draw is a little tight. To make up for it, the burn is incredibly even, and the spice adds a little complexity. It’s not a very strong cigar, but it’s a decent smoke so far.
Things get a bit stronger in the second third, especially the pepper on the retrohale. Some of the subtle chocolate notes from before become a bit more prominent, and the ash holds well throughout.
Once again, the pepper on the retrohale increases. The creamy and chocolate flavors are still present, and the perfect construction of the stick holds up until the end.
Would I Smoke Tatuaje Nuevitas Jibaro No. 1 Again?
Definitely. It’s not incredibly complex, but the flavors are solid and you can’t ask for better construction.
