Initial Reactions and Appearance

My Father La Opulencia Toro has a strong scent, and the unlit draw provides the taste of espresso. There is a small nick in the dark-colored wrapper by the cap of the cigar, but there are no major veins of leaf running through.

First Third

The first few puffs are noticeably smooth, the draw is solid, and the retrohale provides an ultra peppery flavor with subtle wood notes that weave throughout. The ash held well to about an inch before falling off.

Second Third

The pepper flavor recedes a bit, though it still lingers in the background. An almost berry-like sweetness appears to provide an added layer of smoothness, making this cigar almost too easy to smoke.

Final Third

Not much changes, but the intensity of the flavors increase as the cigar reaches its end. My Father cigars usually have similar flavor profiles, meaning you can’t do much better for the price. Pick up My Father La Opulencia Toro if you ever get the chance.
