Initial Reactions and Appearance
Muestra De Saka Unicorn has a beautiful wrapper—spotless with no imperfections. There isn’t a noticeable scent except at the foot where its very chocolaty and earthy. The unlit draw is earthy to match the scent, but there’s nothing special going on so far.
Each of the initial puffs are incredibly floral. A pleasant surprise and definitely an extremely unique start to a Connecticut Broadleaf. Muestra De Saka Unicorn is a light smoke and the draw is great, which is not what I was expecting from a perfecto. As the first third burns down, there’s barely any pepper on the retrohale, but what it does have is plenty of chocolate and floral notes. The floral taste fades into the background, but the chocolate flavor remains strong while the earthy taste from before returns. Stronger and stronger, the chocolate leaves a very pleasant taste in the front of the mouth. The smoke does start to get more intense toward the end of the first third, but a sweetness appears to layer on some more complexity. So far, a really great start.
The second third of Muestra De Saka Unicorn starts off sweet and chocolaty. Complementing these flavors is a bit of earthiness and woodiness, and a creamy taste shows up as well. The mix of all these flavors is incredibly pleasant, and the burn so far has been excellent. The ash holds strong, and everything about Muestra De Saka Unicorn in the second third is consistent.
During my smoke, the ash fell off right at the beginning of the final third.
Aside from a little nuttiness, there’s not much change from the second third to the final third. During the final third, the chocolate flavor takes a back seat to the earth and wood, but everything is still ultra smooth.
Would I Smoke Muestra De Saka Unicorn Again?
Overall, Muestra De Saka Unicorn is a really good cigar. Nicotine-wise, it was on point—enough that I could feel it but not so strong that it kicked my ass. The construction of the stick is almost perfect, and the mix of floral and chocolate flavors made for a really awesome combo. I would definitely smoke Muestra De Saka Unicorn again, but I just don’t have 100 bucks for a stick very often. If you have it in your budget, and if you can find one, I would snag it up due to its limited production.
