Initial Reactions and Appearance
Liga Privada Dirty Rat looks leathery, the wrapper is very dark, and there are no major veins running through. Initial scents are earthy and sweet, and the unlit draw provides the flavors of earth and leather.
The draw on the first third is a little tight, but the flavors are quite impressive. Some initial notes of leather and spice appear on the first few puffs, and there is a ton of chocolate and leather on the retrohale. As the first third progresses, a spiciness on the retrohale starts to build. The ash on this stick holds well, but I did have to ash it eventually when the cigar went out.
The second third becomes creamy and smooth and the leather is still present, but the spicy pepper flavors stop building and move more toward the background. Woody notes appear at the very end of the second third.
Sweet cedar notes and creamy leather flavors give some great complexity to the final third of Liga Privada Dirty Rat. It’s not quite as creamy as the second third, but it does get pretty strong toward the end. I definitely felt the nicotine toward the end of the smoke.
Would I Smoke Liga Privada Dirty Rat Again?
I would absolutely smoke it again. The complex flavors and great construction make this cigar an incredible smoke.
