Initial Reactions and Appearance
The JRE Cameroon wrapper is a medium light brown with a red band featuring the Aladino label. I notice no imperfections on the smooth wrapper with no toothiness at all. The cigar has a musty scent and an earthy taste on the unlit draw.
Immediately after lighting, I taste a pleasant spicy flavor on the straight draw, with a deep earthiness and salty taste that gradually grows as it continues to smoke. On the retro, I taste a little pepper. I am enjoying the draw so far. It’s a tighter draw cigar that isn’t going to smoke itself but it’s not uncomfortable to puff. The smoke is very light in the mouth with a thin creaminess that keeps the mouth from feeling dry and parched. This cigar is burning really evenly and the ash is very white.
As the 2nd third starts, the burn and draw are still consistent. That earthy flavor is fully developed with a spicy, toasty flavor right behind it. The pepper has fallen off the retrohale and a leather flavor has started to develop. I have not yet needed any touch ups.
The final third begins with the leather flavor taking over the pepper and spice completely. Leather and a thick creaminess have completely taken over the entire cigar. The smoke has gotten a little heavier on this third, as well. Again, no relights were needed and the cigar burned very evenly throughout this third.
Would I Smoke JRE Aladino Cameroon Again?
Overall, this was a great cigar. Not one relight was needed and it burned straight the whole way. I really enjoyed the different flavors and the complexity of the blend. I will definitely be smoking this cigar again and I recommend this for anyone, especially at the price of under $10.
