Initial Reactions and Appearance
The wrapper of Four Kicks Mule Kick LE 2017 is free of any imperfections, and the wrapper is dark and smells of espresso.
Some of the initial puffs are full of notes of coffee and chocolate. A small amount of pepper is present on the retrohale, and overall it’s pretty smooth. A new flavor appears, though it’s hard to pin down. After a while, it seems to be some sort of nutty flavor, and it’s actually quite pleasant. During the first third, the draw is good and the flavors are staying consistent, and it burns evenly while the ash holds well. Four Kicks Mule Kick LE 2017 is a strong cigar not for the faint of heart, and it starts to get really sweet toward the end of its first third.
Some burn issues occur on the second third, but the flavors themselves don’t change much. As the second third goes on, it becomes a bit more nutty and the pepper flavor on the retrohale disappears.
Very strong on the final third. The nutty flavors are joined by an earthiness, and the smoke becomes creamy. While the flavors themselves are pretty good, it’s a bit boring as nothing really changes throughout. It’s definitely an ass-kicker nicotine-wise, and it’s a solid cigar all around.
Would I Smoke Four Kicks Mule Kick LE 2017 Again?
Yes. Though a bit boring, the flavors are great.
